Bob Jansen joined PWR in late 2024 as our Senior Corporate Recruiter. He brings a wealth of experience in recruitment for the manufacturing and machine-building industries that is invaluable to our business.

We recently caught up with Bob who shares more insight on his experience and working for PWR.

Bob’s career journey into HR began during his tenure as a Department Head at a scientific archive, where he developed a passion for problem-solving, team building, sourcing, and interviewing.

This passion led him to a varied career in recruitment, including running his own business and streamlining internal processes to ensure smooth HR operations.

He tells us,

“I’ve now had almost 20 years of experience in the recruitment industry working both nationally and internationally, I’ve also specifically worked with technical roles in the manufacturing and machine building industries, so PWR was a good match for me.”

When discussing how Bob first came across PWR and the synergies between his values and the business’ he had a few interesting insights to share.

Bob says,

“It was important to me that I joined a company that really cared about its people. I could already get a sense from the first initial meetings that PWR was a very open, communicative environment.  One of our management principles is ‘The success of PWR is determined by the personal growth of its employees.’ I think the company lives by this principle every day”

In his role at PWR, every day is different. Stakeholder management and interviews is an important part of the job that allows smooth liaison between candidates and hiring managers.
As PWR is a rapidly growing company, it is important the right people who are a good fit join our team. When interviewing potential employees, Bob looks for team players who are helpful, adaptive, and possess strong communication skills. He emphasises the importance of a customer-centric mindset across all departments.

Sharing his final thoughts, Bob tells us that his time so far at PWR has affirmed his initial thoughts on the company culture. He describes PWR’s culture as collaborative and innovative, offering growth opportunities, especially for engineers who manage projects from inception to completion.

He also notes a trend in the Dutch market where young professionals prioritize work-life balance, and PWR is committed to supporting this, resulting in a motivated team ready to serve our valued customers. As a final closing comment, Bob urges people from all walks of life to consider PWR as their next career move.
